Lalela scarves feature inspiring designs from young artists in Lalela after school programs. Proceeds from each scarf sale go towards helping young innovators find their voice and overcome the narrative of poverty through the transformative power of arts education.
This beautiful artwork was created by our talented Lalela graduate, Athenkosi. Today, he is in his second year at Fishoek False Bay College where he is studying finance, accounting and economics. Besides volunteering at Lalela, Athenkosi plays soccer with boys ages 8-12 during weekdays to keep them out of trouble. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful example for our Lalela students!
By linking the arts to academics and life-skills, Lalela provides students with the tools necessary to re-imagine the future and achieve their dreams.
