Lalela scarves feature inspiring designs from young artists in Lalela after school programs. Proceeds from each scarf sale go towards helping young innovators find their voice and overcome the narrative of poverty through the transformative power of arts education.
Here is the young artist behind this scarf design: Originally painted as a mural during the “concious living” holiday program, this artwork was designed by Shakur, a Lalela student, and was painted on the wall at Disa Primary School in the Cape Flats, South Africa.
Shakur is from the Hangberg community in the Western Cape. He loves painting and drawing and has been a committed student at Lalela for 8 years. He also has a passion for gardening and protecting our natural resources.
