Lalela scarves and accessories feature inspiring designs from young artists in Lalela after school programs. Proceeds from each scarf sale go towards helping young innovators find their voice and overcome the narrative of poverty through the transformative power of arts education.
Here is the young artist behind this scarf design:
This artwork was taken from the art of Jazz curriculum which our learners always participate in around the time of the Cape Town jazz festival. These are woodcuts, an old technique originally used for book making. Melikhaya designed this gorgeous piece. We love it so much that this is the second time using it.
