Southern Carmine Bee Eaters in flight, part of the 'Fly with me' Collection.
"Southern carmine bee eaters...my most favorite little winged creature. Nothing beats sitting on a dry river bank, under the baking African sky, watching the iridescent and brilliant blur of thousands of these little birds flying in and out of their sand tunnel nests, setting up home. South Luangwa, Zambia is where I have witnessed the biggest colonies and the sight of this bright pink flash across the sky or across a glimmering body of water is so deeply and richly etched in my mind. It is a place I often return to in my memory bank of reverence and awe."
