Hukura Cinnamon Cups

These drinking cups are perfect for that much needed mid-morning flat white or even a soothing cup of spicy chai on a cold afternoon. Smooth rimmed, creamy off- white speckled glaze, with a darker outer finish.
The handcrafted nature and manner in which these are made means there will be variations in symmetry, dimensions and glazes. Each item is singular, though similar in shape and size, no two items are identical and colour may vary slightly from the image.

Tungoma pottery items are thrown on a Japanese kick wheel. This is pottery made the slow way. The Ceramicist chose to build his own wheel, it is a Japanese style kick wheel which means it doesn't rely on electricity and is powered instead by kicking it. It requires a different skill set entirely when it comes to throwing clay. It also gives his work even more of a tactile-made-by-the-human-hand feeling.
