Wooden components of the Swartberg Sofas & Swartberg Coffee Tables are made from Iroko – an African hardwood that has been treated with ProNature (www.pronature.co.za) outdoor oil. The oil seals and protects the timber against minor stains and nourishes the timber to preventing drying out when exposed to the outdoor elements.
Designed for longevity, handling the African elements & durable in extreme conditions, the Iroko will beautify with age. Without any maintenance, the furniture will gradually weather to a silver-grey patina and hairline cracking will appear, due to the timber drying out. This surface cracking is natural, not a defect, and will not affect the structural integrity of the furniture.
