  • Inspired by the seeds from the eucalyptus trees that grown in the western Cape this one-of-a-kind stoneware vase was hand built and partically thrown on a kickwheel. Beautiful on its own, as a piece of functional art or filled with blooms. Clay like outer finish with a honey gold glaze inside the vase.

The handcrafted nature and manner in which these are made means there will be variations in symmetry, dimensions and glazes and colour may vary slightly from the image.

Tungoma pottery items are thrown on a Japanese kick wheel. This is pottery made the slow way. The Ceramicist chose to build his own wheel, it is a Japanese style kick wheel which means it doesn't rely on electricity and is powered instead by kicking it. It requires a different skill set entirely when it comes to throwing clay. It also gives his work even more of a tactile-made-by-the-human-hand feeling.

  • 6" W x 6.5" H (160 x 162mm)

  • Stoneware, custom formulated glaze
