One of the numerous curriculums we have at Lalela centres around conservation and environmentalism and the beauty of South Africa's flora and fauna. This artwork is a collaboration of pieces from students studying this curriculum. One of our favourite components of this artwork is the depiction of the protea, which is the national flower of South Africa. We love seeing the way the learners appreciate the natural world around them and watching as they learn to protect and nurture it.

By linking the arts to academics and life skills, Lalela provides students with the tools necessary to re-imagine the future and achieve their dreams.

Lalela scarves feature inspiring designs from young artists in Lalela after school programs. Proceeds from each scarf sale go towards helping young innovators find their voice and overcome the narrative of poverty through the transformative power of arts education.
