Britannia metal (lead-free pewter) with gold finish.
It has a hard resin coating, rather than a metal coating, yet has a metallic feel. It is more durable than standard gold plating and is resistant to tarnish and abrasion but, like gold plating, it is also not a permanent finish and could wear off, over time and use. It is hypoallergenic.
Wash in warm, soapy water and then rinse well … but don’t use a scourer or any products that contain ammonia. Also, do not use solvents!
