Room 13 is a boutique graphic design studio based in Cape Town, founded in 2003 by sisters Nina and Michelle van Reenen. We proudly craft design solutions that are functional and beautiful. Our studio’s focus has mainly been on graphic design and art direction, and more recently transitioned into textile and wallpaper design. What initially started off as a passion project has developed into a fully fledged sister company, Room 13 Collection.
Our designers tap into a bottomless bank of stored images and inspiration collected over time, and from there the designs are illustrated, assembled and brought to life. From our fantastical signature botanicals to more subtle geometric and textured designs, our 3 Wallpaper Collections covers it all.

The wallpaper substrates we use come in a range of finishes suitable for different environments. Each is fire retardant in accordance with EN13501-1:2007. Our paper finish wallpaper is PVC free and 100% recyclable. Printed with non-toxic latex inks and matt UV varnish, providing our clients with an eco-friendly, quality product.Robin Sprong’s customisable prints are endorsed with both Green Guard Gold®️ & UL ECOLOGO.

My ambrosia charcoal wallpaper looks pretty good, and overall I plan to keep it for a few years. But sadly, I received an order in a completely different color from my original sample. The sample was a dark blueish grey charcoal color. Based off the sample. I placed an order and received a large roll of chocolate brown wallpaper with purple undertones. See pic. What’s the point of getting a sample if the final product is going to be a different color? Chocolate brown doesn’t match my floor tile, but the charcoal sample sure would have. I don’t think I’ll order from Sarza again.
Thank you for posting the images of your bathroom Brenda - the wallpaper looks lovely. Selecting a different substrate than the sample can lead to color variance as printing on the various substrates does differ slightly due to the base composition of the fabric.

Simply AMAZING ordering experience!
My ordering experience was simply AMAZING! I was somewhat leary about making a major purchase with a company that I had never heard of but after researching and messaging the folks at Sarza I felt more comfortable making the purchase that I did. When I tell you from start to finish there was not a time that I did not inquire about my purchase that I did not receive a prompt, direct response about where the art would ship from, when they expected to receive it and how soon it would be shipped to me. Anytime I reached out the response was immediate. I cannot say enough about how pleased I am with the art that I received and I look forward to doing business with Sarza again real soon.
