Crafted from Ebonised Ash, the server exudes quiet sophistication, its rich tone and elegant form enhanced by intricately carved legs—each subtly revealing the form of a rabbit, seamlessly integrated into the design as a whimsical yet refined nod to its name.
“Ou Hasie,” meaning Old Rabbit in Afrikaans, is a nickname affectionately given to designer Abrie von Wielligh by a close friend. This personal connection is etched into the soul of the piece, making it more than just a functional server—it’s a piece with character and story.
The tabletop is finished in copper, lending a warm, lustrous contrast to the dark timber and adding a layer of artisanal sophistication. The result is a truly unique work that balances sculptural artistry with utility.

I ordered the framed canvas “Sardine Dream” in 35”x50” and could not possibly love it more. I feel like I’m transported beneath the surface of the ocean when I look at it. The canvas arrived expertly packaged and is extremely well made. The rustic wood frame is beautiful as well and only enhances this stunning piece of artwork. I ordered several other framed works and cannot wait to get them up on our walls.
