Nominated for the Design Indaba’s Most Beautiful Object in South Africa in 2016, the Umthi Hanging Lamp is inspired by the organic lines of tree branches that focuses on the materials and allows the wood to dictate its natural form.
The Umthi Range is named after the Xhosa word for tree and is inspired by the organic lines and rhythmic flow of tree branches. Each piece in the range centres on the natural characteristics of wood and allows that to dictate the design of each piece.
This is a custom piece of furniture, made to order, to your exact specification. Once we have received your online order we will be in touch to confirm the finish/color/material specifications, before placing the final order with our supplier.

We have purchased several James Mudge pieces from Sarza, including this tapered leg table in oak, along with the skinny harvest benches. I ordered the framed canvas “Sardine Dream” in 35”x50” and could not possibly love it more. I feel like I’m transported beneath the surface of the ocean when I look at it. The canvas arrived expertly packaged and is extremely well made. The rustic wood frame is beautiful as well and only enhances this stunning piece of artwork. I ordered several other framed works and cannot wait to get them up on our walls.
