      Vachellia erioloba, also known as the giraffe thorn, mokala tree, or Kameeldoring in Afrikaans, still more commonly known as Acacia erioloba. Its preferred habitat is the deep dry sandy soils in parts of South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. . This image captured in Central Namibia, also shows a large spectacular community nest built by the Sociable Weaver (Philetairus socius), a rarity among birds. This is a protected tree species in South Africa.
